Are you planning your staff training for the 2015-16 school year? NCAN’s e-learning system now includes six units that are perfect for getting your new or new-ish student advisors or volunteers up to speed. Just last week, we added a 90-minute “FAFSA Completion 201” unit that covers topics such as the Student Aid Report, income verification, the IRS data retrieval tool, and the FAFSA correction process. Prepared by the financial aid experts at NCAN member uAspire, this unit will increase your staff’s ability to help your students secure an on-time, accurate, and hopefully generous financial aid award letter. The unit is free during 2015 to NCAN member and $119 for nonmembers.

Other available units are:

  • About the ACT
  • Federal Financial Aid Programs
  • Financial Aid 101
  • FAFSA Completion 101
  • Serving Homeless Youth

Why incorporate e-learning into your organization’s training process?  Modules are:

  • Segmented by topic
  • Delivered in convenient 30- to 120-minute segments
  • Self-paced and asynchronous
  • Available year-round, on demand, to anyone with an Internet connection
  • Content is vetted by NCAN and reflects evidence-based practices
  • Platform technology incorporates best practices for online learner engagement

All units are free to NCAN members during 2015 and will be significantly discounted beginning in 2016. Non-members pay just $39 to $119 per unit depending on unit length (30 to 90 minutes). Selected units are free to all.
