Collective Impact

Place-based collaboratives, in the form of local, regional and statewide college access networks or similar entities, are an effective tool for increasing college attainment rates. These multi-sector entities, such as St. Louis Graduates or the Michigan College Access Network, establish and measure progress toward clear goals for increasing college enrollment and graduation in their geographic areas.

NCAN counts more than 30 state and regional college access networks among our membership and provides significant technical assistance and professional development to both emerging and established organizations through our Director of Partnerships and Policy. In 2013-16, NCAN is also supporting Lumina Foundation’s Community Partnership for Attainment Initiative to dramatically raise postsecondary attainment in 75 U.S. cities.
