Live Member Chats

Where Do the Experts Turn for Help?

To each other! NCAN members are college access and success experts in their communities. But they also value the opportunity to learn from their peers across the country. That's why NCAN hosts monthly live member chats: to foster quick, easy and continual peer-to-peer learning throughout the year.

Live member-only chats provide a variety of ways to connect with colleagues working in similar roles both in-person and virtually. NCAN members are encouraged to join any live chat of interest to them.

Advisor Chats

Bi-monthly advisor chats are a meeting space for direct service practitioners to share best practices, how-tos and obstacles faced while working with students in the world of college access. Discussion topics include the college admission process, match and fit, and financial aid, just to name a few. Contact Deputy Director Sara Melnick for more information.

Executive Director Chats

Executive Chats are quarterly video gatherings geared toward issues and concerns faced by the executive directors of NCAN member programs. Chats take place on the fourth Thursday of each month at 3 p.m. Eastern. Contact Deputy Director Sara Melnick to be added to the mailing list.

Regional/Statewide Network Chats

These bi-monthly phone calls are for members who lead regional college access networks and statewide college access networks. The calls are designed to explore current topics or issues that are unique to networks, allow members to share best practices and strategies, and provide problem-solving ideas to colleagues. Regional network chats take place the first Tuesday of each month at 3 p.m. Eastern, and statewide network chats take place the third Thursday in August, October, December, February, April, and June at 3 p.m. Eastern. Email MorraLee Keller, director of technical assistance, for more information.
