March 2010 Access Update - Conference Call for Proposals

NCAN Launches Call for Proposals for 15th Anniversary Conference

The National College Access Network (NCAN) invites proposal submissions for breakout sessions at its 15th Anniversary Conference, October 11-13, 2010. The Annual Conference will take place in downtown Washington, DC as higher education comes to the forefront of policy discussions and public attention.

As NCAN pursues its new 2010-2013 strategic plan, this conference will address the goals of NCAN’s mission to build, strengthen, and empower communities committed to college access and success so that all students, especially those under-represented in postsecondary education, can achieve their educational dreams.

For the first time this year, NCAN asks that the proposals fit into one of eight categories. These categories are college access, student success, financial aid, data/evaluation, policy/advocacy, collaborations, development, and non-profit management. Presenters are also highly encouraged to focus at least one part of their session on a practical application of the information presented.

The 15th Anniversary Conference will also highlight welcome speaker Dr. James Applegate, Senior Vice President of Program Development, Lumina Foundation of Education, and a reception on Capitol Hill.
