SUMMER INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY
The National College Access Network (www.CollegeAccess.org) announces a part-time internship opportunity in its Washington, DC office for the summer. We are seeking a motivated student with an interest in education and policy to assist with advocacy, conference planning, communications, research and other duties.
Job Duties Include:
- Assisting with advocacy and research activities on an as-needed basis;
- Assisting with event planning and database management in preparation for upcoming meetings;
- Answering inquiries from members and non-members;
- Managing information through NCAN’s database including membership and prospect lists;
- Managing the program profiles in the National College Access Program Directory; and
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Experience:
Successful candidates will have a background in event planning, data entry and data management as well as strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills. Top candidates will have an interest in education, education policy, non-profit organizations, and/or social equity. Through this position, the intern will gain an in-depth understanding of college access and success work and gain practical experience working in a non-profit environment. Candidates must be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite.

Part-Time Office Coordinator
Job Summary
The role of Office Coordinator for NCAN is critical to keeping the operations of the office running smoothly and efficiently by fulfilling the role of team liaison, program and internal coordination and administrative support. The Office Coordinator also updates and maintains the NCAN website. This is a part time position (approximately 30 hours/week).
Education, Job Knowledge And Experience Requirements
At least three years of relevant work experience. Must be able to prioritize work, multi-task, work independently without supervision, and accurately perform duties with constantly changing activities in the area. Individuals in this position must have excellent attention to detail, written and oral communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Experience with website development and maintenance, including a familiarity with HTML, content management systems (CMS) and Google Analytics, is preferred. This position necessitates extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Publisher and PowerPoint), knowledge of basic office and communication equipment, and a valid in-state driver’s license for local travel. Some management experience is a plus.
